I come from the beautiful eastern Indian state of West Bengal. West Bengal is situated in a strategic position in
eastern India and its capital Calcutta (now Kolkata) is the gateway to the South-East Asia. Calcutta is one of the
largest metropolitan cities of India and the world.
West Bengal is touched by the blue waters of Bay of Bengal in the south while the snow clad Himalayas guard
the state on the north. It is bordered by the Indian states of Bihar and Orissa in the west, enchanting Sikkim lies
in the north and Assam in the east. In the north, West Bengal has international borders with Nepal and Bhutan.
West Bengal also shares a long porous international border with Bangladesh. The people of West Bengal and
Bangladesh speak the same language - Bengali. West Bengal and Bangladesh together formed the undivided
Bengal under the British Rule.
Bengali is the language most widely spoken in West Bengal. The other languages spoken are Hindi, Nepali
and Urdu. Soccer is the most popular sport in the state. The national animal of India - the "Royal Bengal Tiger"
hails from the southern delta regions of West Bengal - the still pristine mangrove forests of the Sundarbans.

Watch your thoughts; they
become words.
Watch yours words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
