Two workshops at WINLAB, September 17–18: Next-Generation Testbed Capabilities and Wireless for AI

WINLAB is hosting two back-to-back workshops in September. Both are free and open to the community, but registration is required for catering and building access.

Thursday, September 17 — COSMOS3 Community Workshop on Next-Generation Testbed Capabilities

12:00–5:00 PM, followed by a reception and an optional off-site dinner. A half-day requirements workshop — not a showcase — on what COSMOS3 has to build next: upper mid-band (FR3) experimentation, a channel-calibrated digital twin, and street-level sensing. Sundeep Rangan (Director, NYU WIRELESS) gives the keynote on FR3, with talks from Duke, Columbia, Syracuse and Rutgers, a demo break, and an open session on what the community needs from the testbed.

Friday, September 18 — STAIRWAI to COSMOS Workshop on Wireless for AI (W4AI)

8:30 AM–4:40 PM. The second workshop in the STAIRWAI series, continuing from AI for Wireless (AI4W) in January. That one asked how AI can improve wireless systems; this one turns the question around — how to make AI applications wireless-native, and how to redesign wireless to carry AI-based services. Keynotes from Mikael Prytz (Ericsson), Arpit Mehta (Meta), Ranveer Chandra (Microsoft) and Charif Mahmoudi (Siemens), plus a poster session and breakout discussions on what an “AI-Ready” COSMOS platform should be.

Posters and demos

The Friday poster session is open to students, postdocs and industry researchers — send a title, authors and a short abstract to reserve a board. Demos are welcome on both days; tell us what you need and we will find you a table, power and spectrum.

Both events are free, but space is limited by seating capacity, so please register early.
